While Ray and I are in complete agreement that this long-awaited cruise did not go as smoothly as planned. I mean, who can guess two years out that your spouse will hurt his back so completely that it became nearly the sole focus of our journey.
Nevertheless, IF you're going to be in a situation where getting around is not easy for you and rest is an important part of getting through each day, well, then, you can't do better than to be in Haven.
I honestly believe it's the best way to convalesce. Even with our slow goings to get to locations, having the concierge waiting there for us to bring us to our seats was such a load off of our minds, allowing us to travel slowly as safely to each location.
Also, all the help we could possibly need was nothing more than a phone call away. Our Butler, Leo, went well above and beyond. He clearly took into consideration my husband's limitations and my own anxieties and he made it work for us.
I think one of the best examples I can give you is the final night aboard, some of us who had been on our roll call since almost day 1 had a photo session in my suite. Now I've never done a cocktail/photo party ever in my life, muchless in a ship's suite, so I was a little concerned. Leo took each of my concerns and threw them off the 17th floor balcony and just took over. The room looked lovely and I think my guests found that they had more than enough nibbles and the makings of mimosas to keep them happy till the next mealtime.
