That's not to say I haven't put any time or energy into preparing. I bought some really lightweight luggage. Two pieces. One a satchel big enough for weekending and the other a rolling duffel for the longer trips I'll be taking.
Also, after the ... shall we say, "unfortunate" leg swelling, foot killing episode of CruiseWorld, I purchased a couple of pair of wider, more comfortable shoes and will most definitely be using my compression stockings. I hate them. They hate me. They're impossible to put on even though I've seen it done on YouTube like it was slipping on a flip-flop!
There are certain things I can count on when trying to put on my compression stockings. #1 I suddenly feel as though I'm in Wonderland because my legs begin to get very huge as the stocking gets increasingly smaller. It happens! It really does! #2 I will, at one point or another of the wrestling phase, hit myself. Hard. I'm grateful that up until this point it's only been in the upper arm and a graze of the chin, but I truly fear the day I give myself a black eye right before some conference or something. That's exactly the image I want to project. The only way to make that scenario work would be to dance and jump around like a boxer while discussing travel industry stuff. I mean you wouldn't wanna haveta admit to the real reason, would ya?!
Luckily for me I have infomertials. Otherwise how would I have ever known about the zip up comfort stockings. Yep, now I have the option of zippered together calf skin or a black eye. Choices, choices, choices!
